College of Arts - Tikrit University

 • In the academic year 2006/2007, the college of Arts was created with the departments of Arabic Language and History.
• In the academic year 2007/2008, the Translation and Media departments were created.
• In the academic year 2008/2009, the Department of Applied Geography was created.
• In the academic year 2008/2009 the evening studies for the departments: Arabic language, history, translation and media were created, and the number of students reached (258) for the evening study in that year, and the evening study for the Department of Applied Geography was created in the academic year 2009/2010 and received its students in the same year .
• The college includes six scientific departments that grant a Bachelor of Arts degree in the following majors (Arabic, History, Translation, Media, Applied Geography, Sociology).
• In the college, there are (150) male/female teaching staff , in various disciplines and scientific titles.
• The college has modern and advanced scientific laboratories such as the Central Computer Lab, the Media Department Lab, the Sound Laboratory in the Translation Department, and the Maps and Weather Laboratory in the Department of Applied Geography.
• The Department of Sociology was created in the 2011/2012 academic year and received its students in the 2012/2013 academic year and for morning and evening studies.
• Postgraduate studies (Master) were opened in 2011/2012 in the specialty of Arabic language and literature at both the language and literature branches. (19) male and female students were accepted in the 2012/2013 academic year.
• The college held seven scientific conferences in which many researchers from various Iraqi universities participated.
• The college held more than (100) seminars in all its departments.
• The College issued the magazine Al-Farahidi Literature after the Ministry ratification to create it in the year 2008/2009 in the Ministry's letter 12/1300 on 4/5/2009 and the university order number 7/32/5896 on 12/5/2009 and with international numbering (ISSN) (9554- 2074) It is a quarterly refereed journal issued by seventeen issues so far, in which Iraqi and Arab university professors participated in their research and valuable studies, including four issues related to college conference research, and (60) papers were published.
• The college held more than ten training courses for community service in protocol and etiquette, geographical information systems, and of the authenticity of Arabic language in official correspondence.
• A section of the college's teaching staff participated in previous years in scientific conferences and seminars and training courses outside Iraq, and the Deanship is serious to make the college a scientific light between the university's colleges, with its scientific capabilities and a high interest in serving the great Iraq, and success is from God Almighty.
